Psalm 118
Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, and his kindness never ceases. Let Israel now say, “His kindness is forever.” Let the house of Aaron shout, “His kindness is everlasting.” Let those who reverence Yahweh exclaim, “His kindness has no end.”
Out of my misery I called on Yah. Yah answered me and relieved me of my misery. Yahweh is on my side, and so I am no afraid. What can any mortal do to me? Yahweh is on my side, helping me, and I will see the doom of those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust any human being. It is better to take refuge in Yahweh than to trust princes. All the nations surround me, but in the name of Yahweh I will cut them off. They encircle me, yes, they are on every side, but in the name of Yahweh I will cut them off. They hover around me like bees, but they will be extinguished as thorns in a fire. In the name of Yahweh I will cut them off.
I was hard pushed, close to falling, but Yahweh helped me. Yah is my strength and my song, and he is the one who saves me. The voice of joyful singing and of salvation is in the tents of the righteous. The right hand of Yahweh is powerful. The right hand of Yahweh is exalted, and it is mighty. I will not die; I will live and declare the works of Yahweh.
Yah disciplined me severely, but my life was spared. Open to me the gates of righteousness. Into them I will enter and give thanks to Yah. The righteous enter the gate to Yahweh.
I will give thanks to you, for you answer me, and you are my Savior. The stone rejected by the builders has become the keystone. This was from Yahweh, and it is marvelous in our eyes! This is the day Yahweh has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it! We beseech you, Yahweh, save now! We beseech you, Yahweh, send prosperity now! Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh. We will bless you from the house of Yahweh. Yahweh is God and he is our light. Bind the sacrifice with ropes to the horns of the altar.
You are my God and I thank you, and I will magnify you. Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, and his kindness never ceases.
